Hi . My friend is 22 years old . He drinks like once a week smokes a bit . He has rashes on outer neck and itching irritation soreness on the inside . He suspects it to be cancerous . Local ent says throat infection and gave certain medicines but the throat has been such since last 2 3 months . Rashes irritation soreness . What could it be ? Who do we consult ?

Hello lybrate-user. Throat cancer usually does not present with symptoms like throat itching, irritation or soreness. So you should not worry. He should undergo a thorough throat examination including direct / indirect laryngoscopy to arrive at a diagnosis causing these symptoms. Cigar smoking may also cause these throat symptoms. Please see an ent physician in your area. Also for rash on the neck you may consult a skin physician.
