I am 20 years old. My either side of nose remains blocked 24 hour. I am suffering from this condition for the last 1 year. I was prescribed medicines by PMCH. Medicines side effects resulted in frequent loose motion. So I have stopped taking that medicines. Now, sometimes I feel acute chest pain. Is this pain is due to angina pectoris. Kindly suggest me what should I do now. Thanks.

You maybe suffering from allergic rhinitis and pharyngitis. You need to avoid the cause of your allergies and also take anti allergy medications. Please consult for prescription. If you have an infection and have fever you will need to do a course of antibiotics. For now do warm saline gargle and steam inhalation 3 times a day.

Nose blocking is due to congestion, which may be caused due to several reason like 1. Sinus infection 2. Regular cold 3. Allergies 4. Vasomotor rhinitis structural abnormalities of nose like deviated nasal septum need to do few test to find out the cause of this blocking and treat the cause. Mean while you can do the following to control the block 1. Take decongestant nasal spray 3-4 times /day 2. Take anti histamine tablet twice a day 3. Adhesive nasal strips are available which can be placed over the nose. These will help in widening the nostrils and makes breathing easy 4. Avoid very cold drinks 5. Use steam inhalation. 2-4 times/day 6. Have healthy food and avoid eating heavy food in the night. Take care.
