First of all, keep a regular check on his sugar by monitoring daily atleast 3 readings a day for the time being. Also maintain a food diary noting down his daily intake of all the foods he is consuming. Try to co relate if any foods causing high or low blood sugars. Also see if any medicines he is taking is causing these effects. Take the advice of your diabetologist to regulate his insulin dose & shift to a basal-bolus regimen if required.
