I am 36 yrs female, sensitivity especially on the back side of teeth to cold, is it advisable to use sensodyne and for how long. I guess sensodyne is symptomatic relief, does it repair enamel? are herbal toothpaste better than chemical based? kindly suggest.

Sensitivity is directly related to teeth wear away.. That is cervical abrasion( caused by faulty tooth brushing technique), attrition( teething or night grinding habit) or by erosion( caused by intake of aerated drinks).. These can be treated by either fillings or night guard appliance depending on the exact cause.. If left untreated then ends up with RCTs with crown, which is not necessary.. As u knw, tooth paste will just relives the symptoms but not the cause.. So plz do visit the dentist to know the exact cause and accordingly the treatment plan..
