Dear lybrate user, if you have a sedentary day job or sit in fromt of a computer for prolonged hours, then back pain is very common. In particular, paraspinal muscle spasms happen frequently. A simple way to manage this pain would be doing stretching exercises for your back at regular intervals. These include back stretch exercises, using hot water compress or bag for pain relief and also avoiding poor posture habits like hunching or stooping. Back pain is often also aggravated because of getting up suddenly from bed. Ideally, you should turn on your side first and then get up sideways. Exercises like crunches and sit-ups should be avoided. Instead do brisk walking and indulge in healthier eating habits. Avoid pain killers like analgesics as they come with serious side effects. Also, try and be more active through the day. Stay happy and healthy.
