lybrate-user, If hypothyroidism is in control (TSH between 3 to 4 mU/L), then efforts to control weight can be successful. Only way to reduce weight is exercise and take a restricted diet. Your caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight (60 kgs X 25 calories = 1500 cals, since you want to reduce weight, then the intake has to be cut by another 500 cals per day. So daily food intake should give only 1000 calories. Plus at least 45 minutes of walking also is required. Without this there is no other way to reduce weight. Thanks.
