Dear Lybrateuser, -The cough could be due to a viral infection -give warm fluids like water, milk, soup & warm freshhomemade food to the child -give a teaspoon of honey after breakfast -give steam inhalation 2-3 times a day -give sufficient water for hydration -if fever develops or not much improvement in condition then consult a pediatrician for medication.
