Mr. lybrate-user, Hypothyroidism, if not in check does lead to weight gain. So if you want to reduce weight, then controlling hypothyroidism is absolutely essential. To achieve that TSH level should be between 3 to 4 mU/L. Present level is definitely much high. So you will have to increase the dose of thyroxine being taken daily, then check TSh after 6 weeks if it has come down to desired level. Simultaneously exercise for over 1 hour a day, take a restricted diet that provides exact calories based on ideal body weight (63 kgs). Avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks, highly processed products and fructose corn syrup containing products It is better to refrain from alcohol and smoking. Thanks.
