Dear lybrate-user, This is really sad to hear about your mother. Your mother must had thought of you as a strong and successful person in your life. Just focus on her dreams and work on it. The first thing which is coming in your life is your exams, give it a priority and put other things after that. As this phase will go others things will also improve.

Dear lybrate-user, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Losing one's mother is a major setback for any and everyone. It's a very difficult phase and getting out of it takes time as well as the support of other loved ones. I see the loss you have suffered has had an adverse impact on you, both physically and psychologically. Depression is an illness in which your appetite, as well as weight, lowers down for a lot of people. This is what is happening with you. Although rich food and multivitamins may help you recover some of your strength, you need to work on the emotions that you have been experiencing. You need the support of your family and friends in this difficult time. Being okay in front of them while being broken inside, you are living a dual life and it's affecting you. I would suggest choosing a family member or friend you are close to and sharing your feelings with him/her. You need to unburden yourself. Further, you need to work on a pre-decided activity schedule and try and stick to it as much as possible. Make sure you have multiple short periods of study in your schedule. Do not make the study periods longer than 30 minutes at a time. It would be difficult for you to sustain attention at present. Study for 30 min, take a break for 15 min, then again study for 30 min. In this manner, try and bring your attention to your study material. Try studying in a group with friends, write down in order to remember, or teach a friend to ensure you have learned the material. If you find yourself being distracted, read aloud in order to maintain your focus. If these symptoms persist, kindly see a clinical psychologist at the earliest.
