I am 52 years old and got iodine treatment for killing thyroid glands 3 years ago and taking thyronorm 150mg daily. My hdl level is low 24 only. I have family history of heart disease of blockage of arteries. What should I do to increase hdl and avoid dyslipidemia/heart attacks.

This is not an easy condition to treat medicinally. Still nothing to worry. Exercise is the best way to increase hdl. 40 min of brisk walk atleast 4-5 times a week. If you can do power walking i. E doing a km in 6-7 min, it's even better. Try 5-6 californian almonds a day and a single walnut five days a week avoid smoking, simple carbohydrates, sugary stuff, alcohol in abusive quantities. Preferable to take red wine over other forms of alcohol if regular in your exercise, you can take the liberty to take 1 tsf of ghee/ butter about 3-4 days a week.
