Respected Madam, I would have to say that you are exhibiting all features of Depression at present. If these symptoms have been present for more than 2 weeks and have started without any apparent reason, I would advise you to consult with your nearest psychiatrist at the earliest, as you might need to be started on an antidepressant at the earliest. I would encourage you to communicate the same to your parents or friends, so that they can get you the necessary help. I too will be available for any help you need, but I feel that with your current level of symptoms, you would benefit more from receiving medicines immediately. However, let me reassure you that you needn't worry at all. Though you would be feeling completely helpless and hopeless at present like you are not going to come out of this, I can guarantee that, with time and appropriate treatment you would be back to your old self. Its just that some chemical or neurotransmitter changes in your brain are causing you to have mental filter which right now allows you to see only the negatives and not the positives in your life. It will get better, trust me.

The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.
