Mr. lybrate-user, The Stem Cells have produced pancreatic beta cells which secrete Insulin. But these experiments are still at very early stage. More successful in animal studies. This one possible line of therapy for future. Even pancreas transplants have been done to cure/ control diabetes. But whatever earlier damage that has occurred is not correctable. Presently the treatment is insulin injections if needed, plus other available drugs. Thanks.
