My friend recently had his chipped tooth fixed but he has started chewing gutkha again. I'm concerned and I wanna know the consequences of this action.

Please help him stop the habit . definitely most people know it can cause cancer. It contains tobacco and many other (around 40) cancer causing compounds. 
It contains arecanut. That will reduce the mouth opening completely over a  period of time. The other chemicals added are also dangerous and have harmful effects.
