I am suffering from hypothyroid, please suggest me how to control it. And what are medications for the same. Do ayurvedic medicines work to clear thyroid.

lybrate-user, If you have confirmed hypothyroidism with high TSH (more than 10 mU/L), then treatment with adequate dose of Thyroxine has to be started. Dosage will be based on TSH level, T4 level and body weight. Looking at your weight and height the BMI is 31.25 kgs/M2, showing grade 1 obesity, meaning ther is extra 20 kgs weight. This can only be reduced only if TSh levels are brought under control. Only treatment option for hypothyroidism is taking the hormone supplement in recommended dose. No other drug/s work. Thanks.
