I am 25 yrs. I have hypothyroidism since 2011. Now my tsh level is 6.38 here I got confused sm doctor from Lybrate told me to take 50 mcg and some told me to take 75 mcg now I started to take 75 mcg after that my face is swelled. Now what should I do in that condition. Can some one help me on it. Pls suggest. I am frustrated from severe hair fall. Weight gain. And swelling. Its very annoying.

lybrate-user, If you are on treatment for hypothyroidism with adequate dosage of Thyroxine, then TSH should be between 3 to 4 mU/L, then only all the symptoms of hypothyroidism are in check. If TSH remains high, then weight gain, swelling of face, lower limbs, hair fall, dry skin, cold intolerance, tiredness, slow heart rate and irregular menstruation will continue. Thanks.
