In my report I have low GFR = 79 with creatinine serum value of 1.11 what should be my next step to get it rectified and bring it to normal what steps should I take Note: I am not diabetic HBa1C= 4.5.

Hi, GFR 79 is not too low. Serum creatinine of 1.11 is OK is as well. It is not high, but not low either - it is somewhere in the middle. I would advise you to reduce your protein intake and repeat your GFR and Serum creatinine in a month or so. Protein is found all animal meat, fish, egg, all types of pulses, paneer, tofu, nuts, milk etc. So, reduce the amount of protein consumed - stop non-veg food. Based on the values of your GFR and serum creatinine other investigations like ultrasound of your kidneys etc will be decided. I wish you good health. Thank you

Following the classical way, we can assert that normal GFR values are largely over 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 in healthy subjects, at least before the age of 70 years. However, we know that GFR physiologically decreases with age, and in adults older than 70 years, values below 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 could be considered normal. You have to a check up with nephrologist.
