My son was in an accident 2 years and shattered his knee. He was operated on and is now completely mobile. During treatment he was administered heavy medications for a long duration. His right eye vision has diminished since then and the doctor we consulted said that he had developed cataract in that eye due to heavy dosage of medication, mostly antibiotics and will need an operation. The eye has become worse. Unfortunately, my son is committed to a lot of activities in his work and is not finding the time to take a month off for the operation. Is this occurrence normal? Should we consult another doctor? Should he undergo the operation? Can this be treated with any external medication? Please advise. Many thanks.

you should undergo for cataract surgery ,it might have happened due to corticosteroid intake during recovery from accident. You should opt for phaco-emulsification with Alcon IQ acryosof lens ,I will not advise you to go multi focal lens.
