My father (88 year old) is suffering from severe insecurity and depression and keeps talking about dying -daily. He is a heart patient and had a heart transplant in 2002. Currently on medication for blood pressure, mind and sugar /diabetes. Can you suggest any medication that is safe enough to be had at this age with various other medical problems as described above.

You need to personally take him to a psychiatrist get him examined and treat him with medication. With his old age and other medical condition it's better to get treated with proper examination. Old age haunts many with fear of dying. You can't diagnose it to be depression there are very many other conditions with similar symptomatology like old age psychoses, dementia and neuronal degeneration. Etc. So it's better to take him personally to the concerned dr, explore the symptoms and treat take care.
