Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. For hypothyroidism there is no specific or specialised diet. Only certain foods like soy beans and soy containing foods should be avoided as soy affects thyroxine action. Plus you have to take adequate dose of Levothyroxine in adequate quantity and control TSH between 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms will remain in check. Plus consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Avoid deep fried foods, bakery items and food made from maida. Always use whole grain flour for making chapati and roti. Plus exercise to maintain near normal weight. Your ideal weight should be 55 kgs. Thanks.
