I am having hypothyroidism since last 4 years and daily taking thyronorm. Presently the dosage is 75 mcg. The recent medical test shows below results. T3 - 64.26 ng/dl T4 - 4.70 micro g / dl TSH - 8.665 micro g/ dl. As can be seen the TSH value is higher. Should I continue 75 mcg or change it to 62.5 mcg. Thanks and look forward to your advise.

Hello, Thanks for the query. WHen one is on treatment with adeqate dosage of Levothyroxine, then TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms of hypothyroidism are in check. With TSH 8.665 mU/L, you are not in control. Therefore, dose of thyroxine has to actually go up to bring TSH down to desired level Thanks.
