My mother has been suffering from pituitary gland disorder. Doc prescribed hisone 10 mg in morning and hisone 5 mg in evening. She has been taking these medicine from last 7 months. Everything seems fine except her slight weight gain. Does these medicines have side effects. Doc said she has to take these medicine forever.

Weight gain is one of the side effects of Hisone. But if the drug is given for her pituitary condition, then she has to take till her physician tapers and stops it But she can control and modify her diet to minimise the effect.
