I was diagnosed with hypothyroid two months before. My tsh was 8.3 but it was not tested in empty stomach. After taking thyronorm 50 mcg for two months my tsh is 0.07 when tested in empty stomach. Doctor asked me to take 25 mg thyronorm. Should I stop taking medicine as now tsh is too low.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Usually when TSH is between 6 to 9.9 mU/L the condition is considered as sub-clinical hypothyroidism. No treatment is advocated, unless there are troublesome symptoms present. So please tell me when the diagnosis was made what was the TSH level? Plus what were the symptoms? Present level is definitely lower than normal. Please inform the T3 and T4 levels to give a clear opinion. Thanks.
