I am suffering from anxiety related hypertension also known as white coat hypertension. I am using bp tablet olmezest h20. I am taking bp readings by automated bp monitor, during the first reading I am very nervous and anxious it shows little bit high as 145/80. After two minutes I am free it shows normal as 115/75. Third reading shows 114/74. Which reading should be considered? First reading or next readings. Some one told me take average of 3 readings. Some one told me lowest reading. Pls suggest sir. Regards.

Hi, bp readings while being anxious are not supposed to be taken into account. The readings at rest should be taken into account only. However, you should seek psychiatrist opinion for anxiety itself. Anxiety disorders are usually easily treatable and successful treatment leads to marked improvement in quality of life. Best wishes.
