Some patients develops allergic reaction to dead fungal elements. When we start antifungal agents, they kill fungus and liberate dead fungal particles. These particles may cause allergic reaction in some patients. So generally physician give antihistamine (cetirizine/teczine) along with antifungals. But if you not have itching, no need of teczine tablets. In pityriasis versicolor, antifungal treatment will kill fungus but normal skin colour will return in months to years. So no need of too much treatment. 7 day treatment is sufficient.
