I have hypothyroidism. In february 2020 tsh was 44. I was taking eltroxin 100 mg now t3 = 1.04 t4 = 10.09 tsh =4.now report is normal. So can I reduce dose or continue with 100 mg? If yes, how much need to reduce? Thanks in advance.

Hello, thanks for the query. With current current dosage tsh has come within normal limits. That means same dosage needs to be continued. Dosage needs to be reduced only if t4 goes high and tsh goes below the lower limit mentioned in the lab report. So for now ypu will have to continue taking 100 mcg per day as being done now. Check tsh again after 3 months to see if it is around 3 to 4 mu/l. Only if tsh goes < 0.5 mu/l or if t4 goes >12 ng/ml and symptoms of hyperthyroidism start appearing then dose will have to be reduced. Thanks.
