I am a grade 12 examine from bangladesh. I am 19 years old. Last year I was diagnosed with hypertension and depression. Then doctor suggested me to take clonazepam, flunarizine for two months. Since then, I was quite well. But recently, i'm suffering from sleep apnea and depression. Can I take any safe medicine? What can I take?

Dear lybrate-user, allopathic medicines can not be prescribed with such limited information. You need to consult a psychiatrist either in-person or online. Diagnosis will be made by the doctor - not by google or you. Depression, hypertension and sleep apnoea are diagnosis based on your symptoms and other factors. For sleep apnoea, the treatment may not be, medicine. May be cpap while sleeping.

Both clonazepam and flunarazine are not antidepressants. But a benzodiazepine and anti migraine medication. Ideally consult a psychiatrist and get your depressive symptoms evaluated before taking a course of antidepressants for effective recovery. Good luck.
