I am 30 year old unmarried female. My weight is 45 kg only. From many years I am trying to gain weight to look good. My weight is stagnant. Sometimes even my last year clothes get loose by itself. I take milk with nuts and dates in morning. Then 2 banana, consume rice twice also take seeds late afternoon. But still I am not able to gain weight. Nor there is any mass/fat in body as it should be in case of females. My tsh is 6. And my cbc, glucose, lipid, lft, kft, usg etc is normal. please suggest whom to consult. Some say endocrinologistwhile others suggest nutritionist.

Hello, the effect of any medicine will be short-lived. A balanced diet and lifestyle can help in the long term. First of all, we should not target fast weight gain. It will take time. Weight gain can be achieved by few major steps: 1. You can play games like badminton, do yoga, dance, walk and jog, join classes like judo karate, etc. Anything that suits you. Anabolic exercises help in weight gain. 5. Start small, do not create huge goals from day one, for example, do 5 min exercise in the first week. Make it 10 min next week etc. 6. Work on stress management. Do certain activities which you like. Example listening to music while doing mindless work. Get tested for deficiencies like vit-d and hemoglobin, etc. Check blood pressure. Get these corrected with the help of a dietitian.
