Hi lybrate-user, Allergic conjunctivitis is a recurrent condition, and you may experience such frequent relapses or exacerbation of symptoms after stopping or reducing the medicines. Even after subsiding, it may reoccur after few months. No need to worrry about that, as it is not serious. Just keep the dose of meds as has been prescribed by your doctor, avoid dust, avoid rubbing your eyes, avoid cosmetics, and keep putting Carboxymethyl cellulose drops 3-4 times/day for 4-6 months or even longer if needed. They are safe to use in long term.

As the doctor said it is due to eye allergies. It take 1-3 weeks or longer if more severe for the eye allergies to reverse and respond completely to treatment. Gradually, the duration of relief will increase. If burning gets too much, use CMC eyedrop already prescribed as and when required. Alternatively u can do cold compresses
