Hi lybrate-user, let me start by telling you that gums swell in response to debris stuck between your teeth and gums. If you have undergone scaling of teeth then the debris must have been cleaned. If for some reason the debris were left behind or you have not been told about maintenance part post scaling, then wat happens is that food debris gets lodged again and the swollen gums donot get a chance to heal. So kindly consult your dentist for the same and find out about maintenance of teeth and gums after scaling and i'm sure you will be satisfied by the results post maintenance.
