Dear lybrateuser, - Avoid exercise if you do so till pain subsides - apply pain relief gel three times a day on the affected area, apply lightly, do not rub vigorously - take a pain relief tablet after meals three times a day - the shoulder can be rested by sling support - continue heat therapy - if not much relief then consult an orthopedician.

Hello Lybrate user .as you mentioned source of pain is from rotator cuff .do apply ice packs for about 20 min. Keep your shoulder in a sling. Can take analgesic also for initially for one or 2 days .once pain subsides start doing strengthening exercise for rotator cuff muscle. First start isometric exercise then eccentric load for rotator cuff and then concentric exercises .if you find difficult to understand, consult me online I will explain to you. Thanks.
