My mother's TSH is 1.98 but T4 is 15.5. What should I do? She takes Thyrox 75 mg daily. She is 64 and diabetic but diabetes is under control.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With TSH value 1.98 mU/L and T4 15.5 ng, it appears her present dosage is a bit higher than required. Because if T4 levels go up, there can be symptoms of excess thyroxine. So there is a need for dose reduction. You can talk to her physician regarding this. Thanks.
