I am diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have taken inderal 40 mg half tab 3 times a day with neo-marcazole 20 mg 3 times a day and 1 calcium tab a day as per docs advice. Should I continue further? My review is on 2 sep. I ran out of ideal40m and I skipped that since last noon. Today if I undergo free t3 test will there be any adverse outcome of test?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. First thing is you have hyperthyroidism (not hypo) Stopping Inderal 40 mg is not going to affect free T3 or T4 levels. Those levels are controlled by Neo-mercazole. Usually treatment with anti-thyroid drugs is given for 18 to 24 months. Then TSH and other levels are assessed. If thyroid function has returned to normal then treatment is discontinued. Later a periodic assessment is done. Thanks.
