My father aged 70 is bed ridden for the last 5-6 months and over the last 2 days I am noticing signs of bed sore in his lower back. Apart from keeping him clean, is there any ointment or cream which can work better than Neosporin powder. I would be very grateful for your advice.

Buy a water bed from a surgical store ASAP or order it online. Bed sores are formed due to pressure points in normal bed in compromised patients. Keep that sore are moist and wash it with warm saline water 2-3 times a day. You can use alginate also over the sore to enhance the healing. You can consult me regarding better care of geriatric patients at home. Meanwhile you can use neosporin or topical kenacort gel but preventing the wound is best for faster healing.
