Now I am 26 week pregnant. I went to blood test my hemoglobin is7. 8.is anything worry about Hb? Does Hb 7.8 effects on baby? Pls suggest any remedies to increase Hb. moreover I am beta thalassemia minor carrie. Is this minor effect on baby? Pls reply me.

First your husband's HB chromatography should be done .if your husband's HB is normal then there are 50% chances that your baby may also be beta thalassemia minor Carrier. Do your serum iron levels ,if decreased you should take iron supplementation. If iron levels are normal then you will need bld transfusion. Pt with beta thalassemia minor Carrier usually have HB between 8-10.

You are very anemic even if you are thal minor you need oron supplements for your baby + folic acid+B12 at all times in an emergency you will need tranfusion so be prepared.
