Hi there, today's blood test report of fasting BG of my mother showed that the value is 225 mg/dl. Is it indicating type 1 diabetes? Or type 2 diabetes? What should we do now? My mother is 5 ft 1 inch tall. 65 kg body weight. BP- 130/75 (measured on 17.11.17. Her TSH - 5.7.

Dear lybrate-user At her age it's Type 2 DM for sure. There are few tests to differentiate between Type 1 and type 2 like C peptide test and immune markers like Islet-cell (IA2), anti-GAD65, and anti-insulin autoantibodies can be present in early type 1 But in your case it must be Type 2. Regards.
