Hi, my mother recently noticed some hard mass in left breast and went for scan and fnac test. In scan they gave 1. E/o hypo ectopic lesson 18*10 mm with small classifications seen 2. Rest of breast parenchyma appear normal. 3. Axillary regions are normal. No lymphadenopathy. And in fnac report they stated. Microscopic appearance: Fine needle aspiration smears from the breast lump are highly cellular with blood elements in the background. The smears show large ductal cells clusters, groups and since contain in a large vesicular nucleus. There is nuclear and cellular pleomorphism. Impression: The features are suggestive of duct cell carcinoma, left breast-suggested biopsy for confirmation. Please tell me is anything serious in the report.

You need to show your mother to a breast surgeon/oncologist. She will require a biopsy as the reports suggest breast cancer. She will also require a staging work up. As per the use it is early disease in which case after staging to rule out that the cancer has not spread anywhere she will require surgery. She may be amenable to breast conservation with sentinel lymph node biopsy .entire removal of the breast may not be required because it is a small tumor. Based on the final hpe report after surgery she will require chemo + radiation +/- hormonal therapy.
