Hi. An year ago I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. So my doctor gave me mibeta sr40 and nemercazole to avoid it. Since after one year my thyroid is under controlled my doc suggested to stop taking thyroid medicine but continue with mibeta sr40. I feel that I should avoid taking mibeta sr40. When I stop taking mibeta sr it increases my body temperature as I feel a lot of heat emanating from my body. Kindly suggest if my thyroid has been cured then why I need to take a beta blocker?

Your doctor may have prescribed Mi beta sr as your pulse rate would have been high and you may be having palpitation that is aware of the heartbeat PLEASE DO TSH on regular basis to keep track of your hyperthyroidism at hyperthyroidism is known to replase.
