Hello doctor I am saritha. I have hypothyroid my TSH value is 26. So doctor gave me a thyronorm 300 mcg tablet daily. Is it correct or not?

Lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. WIth your age, weight, height and TSH level, starting dose should have been around 75 mcg per day (1.6 mcg per kg of lean body mass per day= 76.6 kgs. Then TSH should be checked after 6 weeks to see if there is an expected level reached. Ideally TSH should be around 3 to 4 mU/L on good control of hypothyroidism. Starting such high dose is usually not advisable. Thanks.
