Hi lybrate-user, Tinea pedis is a contagious fungal infection that affects the skin on the feet. It can also spread to the toenails and the hands. The fungal infection is called athlete?s foot. It usually happens with people who visiting public places barefoot, especially locker rooms, showers, and swimming pools, by sharing socks, shoes, or towels with an infected person, by wearing tight, closed-toe shoes, by keeping your feet wet for long periods of time, by having sweaty feet or by having a minor skin or nail injury on your foot. Try to avoid such situations. It could be some other problem as well. Skin problems are best understood when physically examined. Please visit some dermatologist and get the correct medication.
