Hi, I am having a lump on my left tonsil for 2 months. It hasn't in size at all. But the submandibular lymph node on left under jaw is swollen now. I have tooth decay on left wisdom teeth as well. I have tooth decay on left side as well but no lymph node swelling there in right side. Could it be cancer or the lymph node is due to tooth decay. I had left ear pain as well but it's gone after salt water gargle. Please help me can it be cancer. I am a smoker as well. 25 year healthy. I am having acidic reflux and a doctor suggested me the lump is becoz of it. Pls help.

When there is an infection in the lower tooth their can be chances of swelling of submandibular lymph node. which causes pain and tenderness to the respective lymph nodes. The pain in the ear is called referred pain of the associated tooth. So don't panic and just go for clinical examination and get the tooth treated.

There are many underlying factors as mentioned by you its not that every lump is a cancerous growth so go for symtomatic treatment get your infection caused by to wisdom tooth rectified either by getting it endodontically treated or get it removed. Wisdom tooth pain radiates to ear and head neck region too. So it could be cause. And as far as acidic reflux is concerned that you can have an opinion from gastroenterologist.
