I had a hair transplant in august 2018 and been on finasteride for almost 9-10 years. Now I am looking to undergo lasik this monday and had dry eye test with result of 15. Average person has around 20-25 and less than 10 is considered as dry eye syndrome. Doctor told me that I am good candidate for lasik. But would like to know if my finasteride will cause dry eye and if I should take any precautions before I go for lasik. I missed to tell about finasteride to lasik surgeon, I will meet him again today and talk about this. I did read somewhere that finasteride can cause permanent dry eye syndrome after lasik. Any comments would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
