Hi, I had a friend who I was talking to and he happened to spit a little on my lip area as he was talking, and it might have gone into my mouth. Will I contract the virus mono from this? If he did, in fact, have mono. Thank you.

Mono (glandular fever) is transmitted by saliva. Symptoms include fatigue, fever, rash and swollen glands. The elderly may not have typical symptoms. Treatment involves rest, fluids and over-the-counter pain and fever-reducing medicines to ease symptoms.
