My 7-year-old boy has a swollen red eye for the last 4 days. 2 days back I showed him to an ophthalmologist and he has identified the problem as viral keratitis. He has prescribed virson eye gel 0.15 mg to be administered 3 hourly and lottmox eye drops to be administered 6 hourly for 5 days and then 8 hourly for next 5 days and 12 hourly for last 5 days. The eye seems to be better with reduced swelling and less discharge. Since I have been told that its an eyesight threatening disease, I wanted to know if I should visit a bigger hospital and get the check up done or is the treatment in the right direction? I live in a small town and have to travel to go to a bigger hospital.
