I used to be very double jointed on my thumb, but I fell and landed in that thumb hard, and the joint was swollen for a good month. It?s healed, but it?s not double jointed anymore. What happened/is it something to worry about? (if it matters, im a hemophiliac)

The joint hypermobility syndrome is a condition in which the joints easily move beyond the normal range expected for a particular joint. The condition tends to run in families. Symptoms of hypermobility syndrome include joint pain. People with hypermobility syndrome are more susceptible to injury, including dislocations and sprains. Anti-inflammatory drugs can help with joint pain. Joint hypermobility itself isn't something that can be 'cured' or changed. It's just the way your body is built. However, where it causes symptoms, these can often be controlled by a combination of pacing your activity and physiotherapy. However, drug treatments are also available if you need them.
