I am 29 years old and have recently undergone aortic valve replacement (avr) surgery and had a on-x mechanical valve installed. I'm on blood thinners and take ecosprin and acitrom 3 mg. I will have to take anticoagulants for the rest of my life. I just wanted to know if I will be allowed to undergo hair transplant while on blood thinner (assuming the cardiologist does not allow me to stop taking them for a few days). Some dermalogists say that I will have to stop taking blood thinners a few days before and after hair transplant surgery. Assuming the cardiologist does not allow this, can I undergo hair transplant?

avoid all non urgent surgeries for first 2 years after valve replacement. If you stay well for 2 years and your INR is easily managed you can consider such procedures under expert medical supervision
