I was diagnosed with ocd 4-5 years back by a local doctor in meerut. Despite of lot of medications, my problem is getting worse day by day. I am not able to study at all. Routine activities like brushing, bathing is a very big challenge for me now. My main symptom of ocd is mental checking. I keep recalling the routine activities like taking medicines, eating food etc in my head continuously which occupies 6-7 hours of my day at an average. I am currently taking fluvoxin cr 100 mg 3 tablets a day, lithosun 300 mg 1 tablet at night and buspin 10 mg 3 times a day. I have previously taken rivotril. 25 and petril md. 25 but got no relief. My life is completely spoiled by this problem and recently I got failed in my ca exams due to this disease. My parents not want to support me now because they have already spent a lot of money for visiting d/f psychiatrists in meerut. I am fully alone to battle through this problem and my parents scold me everyday. I sometimes feel suicidal. What should I do?

Dear Ritwik, At the age of 19 with OCD, you have come up to CA exam. You know, failing in CA is a routine - not an exception. Still you have to have a better quality of life. You can increase fluvoxin to another 100 mg or try another SSRI or clomipramine or add low dose risperidone. Buspin is better than petril or rivotril at your young age. Since you are alone to battle through (that is the case with all OCD), please take CBT with ERP yourself with online help. Exposure and response prevention with a friend or well wisher's help will be a good treatment.
