Hi, I am a 28 year old female, married and having a 4 year old kid, breast weaned 2 years back. After weaning I have started experiencing cyclic breast pain which is more prominent on left side. Later a 4 months back I noticed a lump on my left side which was later found out to be fat necrosis on usg. The scan also showed swollen lymph nodes on left side. I started taking vitamin e tablets and neurobion and after a month the pain has reduced significantly. But it was then I noticed a slight swelling on my left underarm and near the pectoral muscle area. Which later started aching in a cyclic manner. I also had a few rashes on my left hand. Is it a matter of concern?

Hello. Ms. lybrate-user. I appreciate your precautionary concerns about your health especially about breast lump. No need to worry. Cyclical breast pain is normal physiological phenomenon of menstrual cycle. Fat necrosis also very common after weaning. But. You need to do regular breast imaging (by usg) once in a year if no new symptoms. Preferably by same breast radiologist. Keep a watch on birads score. If any progression in lump size or increase in birads score, better to consider for fnac from that lump. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user thanks for writing to us there are a number of causes of breast mass in adolescents, most of which are self-limited and benign. Some of the common benign breast lesions seen in adolescents include fibrocystic disease, fibroadenoma, breast trauma, and breast infection less common benign breast lesions include mammary duct ectasia and cysts of montgomery. Phyllodes tumor are usually benign, but may be malignant. Malignant breast lesions, which are extremely uncommon in adolescents, include primary breast cancer, metastatic cancer, and secondary cancer if you are in lockdown you can consult a doctor with video chat so that swelling can be looked and decided upon what are the probably differential treatment options of it.
