Sir/madam, I suffer from bronchial asthma and cough every year in april and make since childhood. I was advised inhaler but I used to take salbutamol syrup or theophylline tablet for controlling it. Should I use asthalin inhaler? Or syrup is good which is more beneficial? And can it be taken whenever needed and stopped gradually? Also tell the maximum doses per day thanks.

Dear Lybrate user, the role of any medicine is to give you quick relief and prevent progression of disease. Asthalin / salbutamol inhaler cannot do the second part. So visit a pulmonologist, get a pulmonary function test - find where you stand, what medicine is best for you and then use the medication for better results. Wishing good health.
