I have hypothyroid problem from last 8 years, I am using thyronorm 75 mcg from past 3 months. Can I use thyroxine-75 instead of thyronorm 75 mcg, is both the medicine are same? Your kind suggestion please.

Aruba ji, Thanks for the query. All the brands used to treat hypothyroidism contain only Levothyroxine. So whichever brand one uses is fine. However, it is better to stick to one particular brand. Because if that has been giving good results then repeated changing is not advised. So you can decide. Most important is to maintain TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L to remain free from the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Thanks.

Both are chemically same and action is same. But since it is a replacement hormone to be taken for a lifetime. It is better to adhere to same one brand.(unless one brand is not available, at times. It is also advisable to do follow up blood tests periodically from the same laboratory to the extent posssible.
