Shweta ji, Thanks for your query. I have seen the details mentioned. Please understand hypothyroidism is hormone (Thyroxine T4) deficiency disorder. Isaka matalb aap ka Thyroid gland Thyroxine jitani matra me chahiye utana nahi banat. Ye hormone hamre sharir ke bahut sare metabolic actions ko aur brain ki normal functioning keliye jaruri hai. Isliye it has to be supplented from outside every day and for lifetime. This is not at all a difficult disorder. If you take correct dosage daily and maintain TSH between 3 to 4 mU/L, then you will remain absolutely fine and normal. Along with that you have to take a balanced but restricted diet, that gives calories based on your ideal body weight, not on present (yane badha hua wt). To give a diet chart I need to know your height, present diet, extent of daily exercise. Unless these details are known, there is no way to suggest anything. However please look at the following instructions : 1) Avoid soy beans and soy containing foods. 2)Avoid deep fried foods, junk foods, bakery items and foods made from maida. 3)Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. 4) Apart fro yoga asanas, do regular exercises like running, skipping and /or brisk walking. You are a very young girls, need to take all these precautions and work on reducing the weight. Your current TSH is high, it should come down to above mentioned level, so dose needs to be increased. Thanks.

I think you are having hypothyroid and not hyperthyroid as you mentioned. Presently your TSH is still high indicating that your dose thyroid supplement is inadequate and you need to increase its dose. To reduce weight you need to reduce your calory intake and increase exercise.

Dear lybrate-user, I note that your tsh is still a little above normal. Are you on thyronorm or eltroxine? If so in the last 2 months how many times did you forget your tablets? If you miss tablets for 2 or 3 days a month your tsh will be a bit high. Take your tablet on an empty stomach in the morning. If you forget then take it later in the day when you remember. If you miss tablets for a whole day take an extra dose the next day morning. When you are very regular with medication check your tsh after 3 months for the weight problem reduce the quantity of carbohydrate (rice, wheat, rava, maida) in each meal and increase the quantity of protein (dhal, soya, egg white, fish or chicken). Take lot of green leafy vegetables walk 5 km per day and gradually reduce weight by 1 kg per month to ideal body weight (height in cm minus 100 will roughly be your ideal body weight in kg) regards,
